The Big Project

So the big project that I've been working on, the one that's been consuming all of my time and energy?

Growing a baby!

Kevin and I are expecting our baby June 17th, 2011. I am officially 11 weeks pregnant, just one week short of completing my first trimester. And I have had delightful morning sickness every single day... woohoo!

This blog is officially being left out. You see, I'm working on something else right now, and it's pretty big. I'm not quite ready to tell you about it yet, but when I am, I will definitely update this blog. So, look for another post in about two weeks with final details.

Don't you just love all the unanswered questions I've left you with? I'm precious like that.

It is never too early to start thinking about Christmas gifts. I'm actually somewhat appalled that I didn't start buying until last week. I usually start in the spring or summer!

I just added some photography to the shop last week, and some new colors of flower brooches. If you have a minute to check them out and let me know what you think, I would totally appreciate it!
I don't think that I'm going to continue making the flower hair barrettes. There just doesn't seem to be much interest in them, and I've sold 11 brooches to my one barrette.
And it seems I've gone international! Over the past couple weeks I've shipped items to Australia, Norway, and Germany. So fun!If you want to buy anything for Christmas presents, just purchase it in the shop and message me before you pay, telling me that you read this blog, and I'll knock off 15%. The bloggy blog has a new look. A new lease on life, if you will. And oh, you will.

No more personal stuff. Cuz sometimes I just don't want to share, but then I feel guilty like I should. And that's just silly. So for now, dahlies.blogspot.com is all about the projects, crafts, and little bits of Happy.

painted floor? dare i?

So I came across this post on painting ugly floors by John & Sherry at younghouselove.com. And I think I'm going to do it in our kitchen. Right now the kitchen is the only seriously ugly room in our house (there are some others that are only moderately ugly), and it has a lot to do with the outdated ivory tiles and the wooden parquet floor that is in pretty bad shape. Well, can't do anything about the tiles for a while. And the floor will be tiled eventually. But could this be a temporary fix? A nice dark brown chocolate color painted on the floor might offset the white cabinets and turquoise walls.

Although I want to repaint the turquiose walls too.

I know, I know. I just can't let anything stay the same for more than a couple years; I get antsy!
