So I came across this post on painting ugly floors by John & Sherry at younghouselove.com. And I think I'm going to do it in our kitchen. Right now the kitchen is the only seriously ugly room in our house (there are some others that are only moderately ugly), and it has a lot to do with the outdated ivory tiles and the wooden parquet floor that is in pretty bad shape. Well, can't do anything about the tiles for a while. And the floor will be tiled eventually. But could this be a temporary fix? A nice dark brown chocolate color painted on the floor might offset the white cabinets and turquoise walls.
Although I want to repaint the turquiose walls too.
I know, I know. I just can't let anything stay the same for more than a couple years; I get antsy!

In my room growing up we had old wooden floors my mom painted white... they turned out amazing. Plus, they are super easy to clean. I'm thinking of painting my cement sun room soon! Let me know how it works out.
